Since I
just couldn’t get enough school, in my 30 years, I even went on to receive my Master’s degree,
attaining my Master of Divinity degree from Lexington Theological
Seminary in 2009. My time at LTS was incredibly
formative, working as a Student Associate Minister, and then the Associate
Minister at Woodland Christian Church, taking a variety of ministry courses and
affirming that I am indeed a glutton for punishment in also taking a full load
of Greek and Hebrew. I find that each of
these events in my life that I am recounting start with something like, “I learned who I am supposed
to be,” but these 3 ½ years at LTS truly confirmed more and more who I am
called to be.
Furthermore,
on January 18, 2009 I was ordained as Reverend Laura Ann Phillips, a sort of
new identity, discovering more than I ever could who I am called to be and what
I am called to do with my life. I’m
incredibly thankful for all those who supported me through the 3 ½ years at LTS
and were present at my ordination in January 2009. Without you there throughout all of it, I
know I would not be who I am…. 30 years along.
