We're headed to New Zealand...

....OK - so maybe its not for another 22 months - but I'm still T-H-R-I-L-L-E-D!!!

JAMIE AND HANNAH ARE ENGAGED!!!

Jamie is my New Zealand brother... our parents have been friends since before I was born, he came to live with my family while he was in HS, I went and lived with his family when I studied abroad in NZ and now our families are all very close. I have two NZ brothers and a set of NZ parents, and shortly I will have a NZ sister-in-law! ;)

They are planning to get married in March 2009 - allowing everyone enough time to plan to get down there to NZ - and they've asked ME to perform the ceremony! HOLY COW!! How cool is it that I will have performed the wedding ceremonies for two of my three brothers' weddings?!?!

At any rate - I couldn't be more excited - I absolutely loved EVERY minute of my time in New Zealand and I will probably resort to selling plasma if I need to in order to get the money to return down there. Not to mention that now we have to figure out how to get Michael down there too! Can we both sell plasma? So maybe that's a little drastic - but seriously, we will be there - one way or another! :)

Congrats to Jamie and Hannah - I couldn't be more excited!!

Long needed update...

SOOO - a very long time since I've been able to give a proper update, so here goes. As everyone is aware, my grandpa passed away about a month ago and my life has been a whirlwind since then. It was a really great opportunity to go home to Kansas City and see my family (sorry I didn't have any "friend" time!) but of course for a not so great reason. Since then I've returned to Kentucky to one of the most intense semesters yet. In the three (last) weeks following my return from my grandpa's funeral I managed to have 4 tests and 4 15 - 25 page papers due which pretty much kicked my butt. On top of that my roommate was graduating two days after our last day of class, so of course there were all the festivities and singing responsibilities for graduation. Then on Mother's Day I moved again! Somehow I manage to always schedule a move right at the most inopportune time. Last year I scheduled my move in May, left to St. Louis on May 20 for a wedding, only to leave for my trip to Poland on May 22. After I arrived back in early June, it was ridiculous trying to get unpacked. Coming home after a long long international trip, it was less than pleasant to come home to nothing but boxes upon boxes needing to be unpacked. Luckily during this move I'm here and can unpack as the week and weeks progress, without as much stress. Of course this is not to say that I don't have stress now... I'm performing a wedding this wedding, starting an intense two week summer class on Monday, and then heading off to the Gulf Coast for a mission trip with 40 other people in late June.
I'm really looking forward to this summer, to the trips I'm going on for church, and the opportunity to "settle in" gradually. I'm glad I can focus more on my work at church and make up for this last semester. I feel like I let my kids down a bit at church because I was so busy at school, so I'm really glad that I'll only be taking three classes in the fall.
Random and probably unexciting news I'm sure - but my life has been random and crazy lately, so it seemed like an appropriate blog.

Good Horoscope

This was/is my horoscope today... fitting that I started this Blog just about this time of year about two years ago. Crazy to think about where I was, physically, mentally, spiritually, financially :).... all of it.... "Go through your mental scrapbook. See how far you've come, even in just a year or two? Impressed? You should be. Even if the results weren't immediate and material, your spiritual and emotional progress is considerable." Yay for a good horoscope that keeps me motivated right now! Somehow there are only 5 days of class left, and in those 5 days I have three tests, a take home test and a paper to finish/turn in. How did I do this to myself? I can't wait for next semester, I only have THREE classes! Well I better get back to it!!
